SmartBots bot Live Chat allows you to chat in-world with other residents through your Personal Bot. From now on, Live Chat allows you to establish a new chat sessions by entering a Second Life name.

Some customers experienced problems using SmartBots Live Chat before. We’ve did the necessary fixed, and system runs smoothly now in all web browsers.  Check the Live Chat now:

There’s a new feature available with SmartBots HUD which allows moving your Second Life bot around with the movement tab. You are not limited to “Come to me” or “Teleport” functions anymore to place your bot at specific location.

Movement panel provides you with several options: forward, backward and rotation controls.

Testing new HUD

If you already purchased your personal Second Life bot with SmartBots, feel free to test out the new HUD yourself. You can get a new SmartBots HUD at the SmartBots Office (take it from The Payment Terminal or Devices Storage).

This directive allows to specify the avatars you trust (for example, managers or your Second Life bots). These avatars will be able to say anything, including the “forbidden” words.

What is Anti-Spam?

SmartBots Anti-Spam is a special device which monitors your group chat activity. You specify the list of forbidden words and phrases, and it ejects anyone who says them. It is possible to warn the abuser once before actually ejecting him from the group.

The device is available in SL Marketplace: get it here for free.

Updating existing Anti-Spam devices

Open your device’s config notecard and add one or more “WHITE LIST” lines at the end of the config. The avatar names should be separated by commas. Example:

WHITE LIST = Name1 Resident, Name2 Resident
WHITE LIST = Name3 Resident

The board looks simple and stylish. You can put your own office photo, logo and other images like short greeting for the visitors (see how we did this at the entrance of SmartBots office).

As usual, new device is free and available at Second Life Marketplace.

The board is menu-driven and can be configured as well as other Interface devices. To set the images, just drop them to the board (read the instructions inside the board).

You can fund money to the Wallet and system will automatically use them to prolong your subscriptions (either groups or personal bots). Wallet can be loaded with L$, PayPal and credit cards, making the payments easier in some cases.

Christmas bonus

With a new Wallet the bonus and discount system of SmartBots becomes more flexible. To show that, we give the special Christmas bonus – 20% – till Dec 29th. Merry Christmas!

What’s next?

Actually, this is a very first step of Wallet integration to the  system. What we plan to do in the near future:

1. Allow residents to add money to friend’s balance (the high-demanded feature).
2. Refund stopped services (groups and bots) back to the Wallet.
3. Allow buying services (like group export) using the Wallet.
4. Integrate Wallet with the future SmartBotsStore.
5. …and even more.

You can specify if you would like to get an e-mail notification, Second Life IM  or both. If you don’t plan to extend your bot’s subscription, you can uncheck the checkboxes and system won’t annoy you anymore.

The options can be found in bot’s Settings page: locate your bot image and click “settings” link.

The new SmartBots HUD is powered with a Live Chat notification icon: the small envelope appears when your bot receives a new message. You can open the Live Chat by clicking the icon.

Model bots can be controlled by SmartBots HUD, teleported and sitted on any prim. They are able to use AOs and autoreply IMs. The only difference between Standard bots and Model bots is that Model bots can not send group invitations, notices and listen to a group chat.

The price is L$179 per week.

You can change your bot type from Standard to Model and back in your SmartBots account.

You can use any name to access your account, there’s no difference if you are using one address or another. We will not disable the previous name (www.smartbots2life.com) and website will be always accessible at this address.

P.S. We’ve sent a notice to our customers recently with the new domain name mentioned, and some residents asked if this is actually SmartBots domain name. The answer is yes, this is an official SmartBots domain. Thank you for asking us – we appreciate your care!
