Anti-Spam improved: white-list avatars added

January 14, 2012 by Glaznah Gassner

SmartBots Anti-Spam device has been improved: the new WHITE LIST directive has been added to the config notecard.

This directive allows to specify the avatars you trust (for example, managers or your Second Life bots). These avatars will be able to say anything, including the “forbidden” words.

What is Anti-Spam?

SmartBots Anti-Spam is a special device which monitors your group chat activity. You specify the list of forbidden words and phrases, and it ejects anyone who says them. It is possible to warn the abuser once before actually ejecting him from the group.

The device is available in SL Marketplace: get it here for free.

Updating existing Anti-Spam devices

Open your device’s config notecard and add one or more “WHITE LIST” lines at the end of the config. The avatar names should be separated by commas. Example:

WHITE LIST = Name1 Resident, Name2 Resident
WHITE LIST = Name3 Resident

New SmartBots device, and new plugin are available

August 29, 2011 by Glaznah Gassner

We’ve released a new device and new plugin script today! Both devices were created on customers’ requests:

1. SmartBots Anti-Spam device

This is automatic device which monitors your Second Life group for spammers and beggars, and eject them from the group (with or without giving a warning).

Antispam device is very easy to configure (it supports words, phrases and wildcards) and lightweight (1 prim only).

It’s available at SL Marketplace already – click here.

2. Group Inviter plugin for IntelliAD

This is a plugin for famous adboard rental system developed by Intelli. We’ve created the group inviter plugin which invites your tenants to the group (any role, closed enrollment allowed) and ejects them when they got evicted.

Plugin is configurable using the config notecard and also available at SL Marketplace.

P.S. I really appreciate the help of our customers who helped developing and testing these products! Thank you very much!

Scheduled Instant Messages

August 2, 2011 by Glaznah Gassner

The new SmartBots feature allows sending the scheduled group IMs. They work similar to scheduled automatic notices: you specify the message text, delivery schedule – and your Second Life bot starts sending the messages automatically.

Flexible delivery time

Another update relates to IM/notice delivery time. You are not limited to 2 times per day anymore: now you can add as much delivery hours as you need (this relates both to new automatic IMs and group notices).

Trying automatic IMs

The scheduled IMs are available within the “Group Chat” SmartBots service. You can enable this service by logging to your account and clicking “add/remove services”. If you would like to try the new IMs for free, contact Glaznah Gassner in-world.

Chat now indicates the missing abilities

February 9, 2011 by Glaznah Gassner

Some of our customers were experiencing troubles kicking out the chat spammers, because there were no message to determine the missing “Eject” ability.

The diagnostic message has been added and now tells if your bot is unable to eject users from the group. Use your SL client to turn on the “Eject members from this group” ability.

P.S. Remember that ejected members fall into the Blacklist, and will never receive an invitation from SmartBots.
